Steps to make Meat pie:
  1. Sieve flour and baking powder into bowl, add salt then rub in margarine using your fingertips until well mixed and resembles fine breadcrumbs.
  2. Bore a hole in the centre of the flour mixture then add water and whisked egg to that center, knead mixture until it binds together and forms a soft dough( handle pastry as gently and lightly as possible.
  3. Place pastry in fridge for about 15-20min to set.

  5. Pour some oil in a sauce pan and place on your cooker, allow to heat then put bay leaf or two into the oil, let sizzle for some minutes then take it out.
  6. Pour in chopped onions, ginger,garlic into the oil and fry until golden brown in colour then add your minced meat and seasonings, cover sauce pan to steam.
  7. When beef is almost done,add diced potatoes and diced carrots,cover sauce pan to continue steaming.
  8. When potatoes and carrots are a bit steamed then add your spring onion and put off the heat then cover to steam for a while then allow sauce to cool before using.
  9. When sauce cooled, roll out the dough on a lightly floured board.
  10. Cut into fairly large rounds, put some sauce on one half of each pastry.
  11. Damp the edge with beaten egg, fold pastry over to form a half circle. Press the edges together securely with a fork.
  12. Brush with beaten egg and prick top with toothpick.
  13. Arrange on greased baking tray and bake in a moderately hot oven for about 20-40mins.
