Steps to make Meat pie:
  1. To make meat pie filling.
  2. Scrape carrots, peel potatoes wash, cut into cube sized chunks, cook, drain and set aside.
  3. In a pot add oil, thyme, stock cube and stir fry for 3 minutes.
  4. Add cooked carrots, potatoes and top up with half cup of water and allow to boil for 2 minutes.
  5. Now make a running paste with flour and cold water
  6. Add the paste into the pot containing minced meat stir and cook for 5 minutes.
  7. Allow to cool down completely.
  8. To make meat pie pastry.
  9. In a bowl mix all dry ingredients and mix very well.
  10. Now rub the butter against the flour mixture until well incorporated (it will look like bread crumbs)
  11. Now add water bit by bits and keep kneading the dough till you achieve a thick elastic dough.
  12. Knead for another 5 minutes, cover and allow for 15 minutes.
  13. After 15 minutes bring out dough and knead some more.
  14. Divide dough into 5 equal parts.
  15. Dust your work surface with flour.
  16. Roll out dough using a rolling pin to 5mm thickness
  17. Use a pot lid to cut out a round shape dough.
  18. Remove excess dough around the cut dough.
  19. Scoop some desired amount of minced meat filling on the round dough.
  20. Fold one edge of dough to meet other opposite edge.
  21. Use your hands to seal edges properly
  22. Use a fork and press against edges to seal tight.
  23. Seal with hand properly again.
  24. Heat some amount of vegetables oil and deep fry on medium heat till golden brown.
