Instructions to make Praline Apple Pie:
  1. Preheat oven to 425°F.
  2. In a large bowl, combine apples & coffee mixture, tossing to coat well. Add brown sugar, pecans, flour, cinnamon, & nutmeg. Toss gently to coat.
  3. Fit 1 crust into a 9" pie plate.
  4. Spoon in apple mixture.
  5. Dot with butter.
  6. Brush rim with some of egg white.
  7. Cover with remaining crust. Crimp edges to seal top & bottom crusts. Cut 3-4 sits in top to vent or cut a design of your choice.
  8. Lightly brush top of crust with remaining egg white. Then sprinkle sugar over top.
  9. Bake 10 minutes; reduce oven temperature to 350°F. Bake for an additional 50 minutes.
  10. Place on wire rack to cool for 30 minutes before serving.

After it cools, pour the luscious praline topping over the crust. If your family likes to enjoy dessert after dinner settles, put the pie in the oven when you sit down to eat your meal, and serve it warm later. This apple pie filling has lots of flavor from extra cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice. It is full of flavor, but what makes this apple pie unique is the praline topping. I added the praline sauce to the top of the pie crust for the last ten minutes of baking.
