Couscous jollof is one of the most favored of current trending foods on earth. It is enjoyed by millions daily. It is easy, it’s quick, it tastes yummy. Couscous jollof is something that I’ve loved my entire life. They are fine and they look wonderful.

This recipe is a mix of my world famous Jollof recipe and this super delicious Nigerian style couscous recipe that I have here. We served it with some suya for lunch this past week and it was incredibly delicious. This couscous recipe is almost everything Jollof, the only difference is that, this takes so much of a shorter time to put together.

To begin with this recipe, we must prepare a few ingredients. You can cook couscous jollof using 5 ingredients and 3 steps. Here is how you cook it.

The ingredients needed to make Couscous jollof:
  1. Get Couscous
  2. Get Oil
  3. Take Seasonings
  4. Take Curry
  5. Take Red, green pepper, scotch bonnet, tomatoes nd onions

Growing up my mom will rarely make Jollof couscous, I think she made it on New Year or birthdays. We will eat Jollof rice and Jollof spaghetti all year long but comes special occasion, my mom will make Yassa, pizza or Jollof couscous. Nigerian Style Couscous is simply Nigerian Fried Rice style inspired Couscous. Couscous is an increasingly popular alternative to rice these days.

Instructions to make Couscous jollof:
  1. Wash ur kayan miya and dice into ur desired shapes
  2. Place a pot on fire add ur cooking oil fry with onions add hot water allow it to boil
  3. Den add ur sliced red, green pepper, scotch bonnet, tomatoes and seasonings den add ur couscous stir and cover for 3mnts den add ur sliced onions and Curry stir well reduce d heat to lower heat and cover for 5mnts

It has a very fluffy texture which is quite bland in itself so to thoroughly enjoy it, you'll need to incorporate intense flavour into it. The amazing thing about couscous is how fast it 'cooks' and how versatile it is. This is one of those recipes that should give you lots of ideas to create your own combinations. By the way, this is the 'home' version; the traditional method used to cook this dish uses a steamer called a kiska, sometimes called a couscoussier in French cuisine. With Couscous i find a lot of people are turned off cooking it because they assume it to be complicated dish but that's far from the truth.
