Hariyali chicken also known as green chicken is an Indian dish made by simmering chicken in fresh aromatic herbs & spices. In this post I have shared how to make green chicken. You can also use the same recipe to make hariyali chicken tikkas or one pot green chicken rice. A delicious chicken curry made with coriander & mint leaves and a dash of dried fenugreek leaves makes for a wonderful accompaniment to rice or Add the pureed spinach and cook for a minute or two and then add the boiled or fried chicken pieces only.

  1. Add blanched spinach in a blender with mint & coriander leaves. Add lime juice, ginger garlic paste, green chilli, curd & add all spices. Blend it to a puree.

  4. Heat a heavy bottom pan add. 2 Tbsp of ghee. Add chopped onion & cook till it becomes soft & translucent.
  5. Add ginger garlic paste & let it cook for about 2-3 mins so that the raw smell goes away.
  6. Add whole spice blended masala. Now time to add marinated chicken in the pan. Mix it well. Cook for 5-8 mins.
  7. Add fresh tomato puree & salt. Cover the lid & let it cook for 8-10 min. Chicken Spinach Bahar is ready. Enjoy 😊

Heat oil in the pan and fry chopped onion till it is soft. When the water of the chicken dries out, add coriander powder, chilli powder, salt and stir till the oil separates.
