Cover the pot and allow the oil to melt and then add water from one corner of the pot to avoid loosening the wraps, add water until it covers to the surface then cover the pot allow it to cook for 20mins then stir it and taste, if it looks too thick add a little more water to loosen it up a bit then add shredded vegetable leaves then allow it to cook for 5mins then stir it and allow it to cook for 5mins then put off the gas cooker.

It is a staple of the Bafaw people of the South West region of Cameroon but widely eaten in the rest of the country. Ekpang nkukwo is also used for pregnant women and nursing mothers, as this dish is full of nutrients.
